The living room is "too lively" sound wise. One way to attenuate the sound is to put up panels. Here are some pictures to visualize some different arrangements. According to the manufacturer we should have 380 sq ft to reach a reading of 1.5seconds, the industry standard.

ReplyDeleteI'd think a major cause for echo is the A ceiling. Sound goes up, hits one side, bounces to the other side, and back at ya. The Camp Michigania dining hall has just such a problem, becomes a total hub-bub during meals. G+ won't let me post a picture, I'll email it to you. Does not show the A of the dining hall too well and the supporting frames may cut the sound bounce somewhat.
